Topicality of decision making in an organizational context

The actuality of the theory of the organizations carries two tendencies with regard to the possibility for the worker to make decisions. The neo-bureaucracy constrains the scope of decision left to the workers, while the tendency to autonomy is sometimes accompanied by a structuring of the collective decision processes. The paper presents these trends and shows the issues at stake for decision making.
