How to create chatbots based on human cognition?

In this presentation we will discuss the importance of conversational pragmatics in chatbot design. We will show how contextual information is essential to make the conversation flow. We will also discuss the methods currently used to produce chatbots, the interest of different approaches but also the criticisms that can be made of them. Finally, we will present Jeff Hawkins' model of the neo cortex, which allows us to find certain well-known effects in cognitive psychology, before presenting an example of a chatbot based on this model: Al.
